2015 Light Keepers Run held in Forteau Bay This year, 30 runners participated in the annual event on the fine summer day jimmy choo peep toe of August 8.
There were three distances run from Forteau through to Point Amour at 16 km and 10 km. As well as one starting at L'Anse Amour branch at 5 km. The popular run is hosted by the Labrador Straits Loppet Committee and is sponsored by various local organizations and businesses. It was once again deemed a success. "An event such as this just doesn't happen without the amazing dedicated volunteers and support from businesses and organizations," said Darcy Hancock, of the committee. One of these five runners was first time participant Terra Hynes. She had the third fastest time. Hynes, who grew up in Forteau but currently lives in Benoit's Cove, has been running for a number of years. She has competed in events in Corner Brook, St. John's and Halifax; but, having timed her vacation to coincide with it, this was the first time she has had the opportunity jimmy choo trainers rose gold to experience the Lightkeeper's Run back home in the Labrador Straits. In a sense, Hynes said it was even an emotional experience. As a youth, she never ran a whole lot growing up in Forteau; she got jimmie cho into the activity more once she moved away. Therefore, it was nice jimmy choo white to connect the activity with the place she grew up in and with people she hadn't seen in a number of years. "It was kinda neat too because you could see, from your starting point, where you're actually running to," she explained. "You can see the lighthouse [across the bay] right from there. It was pretty cool. Not very often you can actually see your finish." The run, itself, was long and tough at times. "You have that big hill there at Crow Head and that makes you work," she said, laughing. And running on the gravel road to Point Amour was somewhat "tricky" as well, she explained, as you have to be careful with your footing. However, the whole experience was more than worth the challenge. "This was just so scenic and dear to your heart," she said.
"It's the place you've grown up and to actually come back and run the whole perimeter of Forteau Bay was pretty awesome. You just smile the whole time you run when you run a route like that.".
